NSF Data Management Plans

Examples of Data Management Plans

Some of these data management plan examples are not specific to NSF proposals. However, they may give you ideas for the type of information that you need to include and how to express some of the required elements.

  • DataOne provides four examples of general data management plans written for the National Science Foundation. (The links are at the bottom of the page).
  • The DMP Tool not only walks you through the process of creating a ready-to-use plan designed for specific funding agencies; they also have a link to a sample plan created using the tool.
  • UC San Diego has a collection of successful data management plans submitted by their researchers.
  • The University of Minnesota provides a page with links to examples of data management plans written for a variety of funding agencies across a variety of disciplines.

Consultations for NSF DMPs

The library is piloting data management consultation services by offering consultations specifically for researchers applying for or receiving funding from the NSF.

If you are interested in arranging a data management consultation, please contact the Research Center.
