This video discusses the rising sea levels in Palau, Alaska, and the Netherlands. The video starts with Palau and makes it clear that other Pacific island countries are facing the same problems as Palau. The locals are given time to share their struggles against climate change, specifically related to houses being underwater permanently or just when tides are high. The message given by the President of Palau Tommy Esang Remengesau Jr. is that Palau can be a sign of what's to come in the rest of the world. The video then shifts to Alaska, where the concern of climate migrants is given an economic concern. AlJazeera then provides its estimates on the sea levels rising and the cost of housing all these migrants. Lastly, the video ends in the Netherlands to make things seem less hopeless. They share this idea of building floating homes and communities to mitigate the cost of moving somewhere else. Additionally, they argue that floating communities can have adjustable costs.
