Restaurant Industry Resources

This guide identifies souces that can be used for restaurant industry research

The Library Catalog

University Libraries buys many materials that can be used in business research.  These can be in print or electronic format.  Use the Library Catalog to find them.  Some possible search strategies to find a wide range of sources owned by University Libraries and published by a particular entity include searching on the name of an association or publisher using the Keyword search:

  • National Coffee Association
  • National Restaurant Association
  • National Sporting Goods Association
  • Richard K. Miller

Other Catalogs

Other libraries might have sources useful for marketing.  For example, public libraries are more disposed to purchase books on how to set up a type of business than academic libraries.  Use Prospector to identify sources from such institutions as Denver Public Library or Boulder Public Library, as well as other academic libraries in Colorado.  Material requested through Prospector takes about 3-5 days to receive, as long as the item is available.  Use WorldCat if you are going beyond the area covered by Prospector.  Be sure to give yourself the quarter for obtaining material identified in WorldCat.
