Viola Davis

Actress and producer Viola Davis was born on her grandmother's farm on Singleton Plantation in South Carolina. She became interested in theatre in high school and chose to pursue it in college, attending Rhode Island College and the Juilliard School. While having acted in Hollywood films since the 1990s, Davis is best known for her lead roles in the film The Help and the television series How to Get Away with Murder. Also a talented stage actor, Davis is the first African American actor to achieve the "Triple Crown of Acting:" an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, and a Tony Award.
