Testing your project thoroughly

Before you put your project into production mode and start collecting data, test the following:

  • Can you easily enter and export your data?
  • Can you upload exported test data into your analysis software of choice?
  • Do validated, branched, and/or calculated fields work?
  • If applicable, do surveys look and function as desired when emailed?
  • Have you consulted with a statistician? (Always a great choice if you have the option)

Putting your project into production

If you've tested your project thoroughly, and you have IRB approval/exemption, you're ready to put your project into production and start collecting data!

Remember:

  • Production mode is the safest place for your data!
  • You can enter data into database(s) or have respondents take survey(s).
  • If you want to modify your projects or instruments, you can put your project into "Draft" mode -- in draft mode, you can make small changes (such as spelling and grammar), at will. To protect saved data, any changes that result in the deletion of existing data require administrator approval.

To put a project into production, go to the "Project Setup" tab and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. There, you can request that an administrator put your project into production. You can either keep all data collected so far, or delete test data and start fresh. We respond to requests in 1-2 business days.
