Multimodal Resources: Video Tutorials

Basic Instructions

Here are the basic steps for students with PCs.

Create your video in the Flip video camera.

Plug in the Flip Camera into your USB port.

Edit the video or create the movie with multiple scenes in FlipShare.

If you want to be able to change the transitions or create special effects:

Save the video to an .mp4 (or an .avi) file, depending on which Flip camera you have.

Convert the .mp4 file to an .avi if you have an older version of Windows Movie Maker. (You could use this program. )

Go to "File | Import into Collections" for the file. (You might need to have an updated codec pack installed on your computer.)

Edit the "movie" to include different scenes and transitions.

Save the movie as a .wmv file (Windows media/video)

Upload the movie somewhere, or put it into a PowerPoint presentation.

You could also do basic editing of your video within YouTube.
