What is COHRE?

The Center on Human Rights Education (COHRE) is a non-governmental organization established at the University of Denver in 1988 as part of the Josef Korbel School of International StudiesCOHRE contributes to the universal recognition of all human rights, with an emphasis on economic, social and cultural rights through research, events, and education.

With a dedicated staff, COHRE continues to successfully participate in community and campus outreach by holding educational events focusing on the rights protected under the United Nations' International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR). COHRE holds an annual symposium focusing on a particular theme relevant to human rights. Past themes have included the Right to Education, the Right to Water, and so on.
